The jewel in the Crown of the Continent

If you’re looking to get even farther away from it all, consider a hike into the Jewel Basin. With over 15,349 acres of wilderness, 27 lakes and nearly 50 miles of hike-only trails, it’s easy to see why Jewel Basin is a favorite among Bigfork locals.

Trout fishers will find a virtual nirvana for catching cutthroats in the pristine waters of the isolated lakes. Bring your tent and camping gear and settle in for an amazing experience. Don’t be surprised if you get a visit from a mountain goat or two, and be sure to pack your bear spray.
