Crisp Spanish Rosé + Sweet Pacific Oysters
Tender Texas Wild Boar + Unctuous Washington Syrah
These are just two of the six courses in our wine dinner on May 11, featuring wines from the acclaimed Spanish producer Conde Valdemar and from Valdemar Estates, the newest and first US chapter in Valdemar’s five generations of distinguished winemaking.
Stone Hill’s internationally-acclaimed Executive Chef Rikku O’Donnchu has chosen five of the most prominent Valdemar wines for his inspired tasting menu, with each dish uniquely prepared to perfectly compliment each of the carefully crafted wines.
Jesús Martínez Bujanda will be at Stone Hill to share with us the Valdemar family’s history in winemaking and to lead a discussion of the viticulture and vinification of each of the distinguished Valdemar wines. Jeśus is the fifth-generation of a family of Rioja producers and wine growers, born in 1988 in Oyón, Spain. There, he spent his childhood in continuous contact with the family winery and vineyards. In 2014, he took the mantle of his father as CEO of Valdemar Family. After years of looking for opportunities to grow the family business, he decided to build a new winery in Walla Walla, Washington, and permanently moved to this amazing community to develop this project.
Special thanks to Peter Grantz and Shyamali Malakar, the amazing and dedicated wine professionals at Intermountain Distributing, for making this wine event possible.
