We’ve still got snow on the valley floor in the Swan, but it’s steadily melting, and it won’t be long at all before our slumbering bears emerge from their dens. As for the rest of us, it’s time to get back into bear awareness mode.
Mark your calendars for Wednesday, April 6th, for our annual SVBR Spring Bear Wake-up Social!
We’ll be joined (virtually) by @montanafwp Grizzly Bear Research Assistant Lori Roberts, who will be giving a virtual presentation on bears of the Swan Valley and beyond.
Lori Roberts is a Research Assistant on the Grizzly Bear Trend Monitoring team for Montana Fish, Wildlife and Park (MT FWP). She has worked in both research and management side of grizzly bear with MT FWP for the past 16 years. Before moving to NW Montana, she worked in the Bear Management Office in Yellowstone National Park. Lori graduated from the University of Montana with a B.Sc in Wildlife Biology.
