Rebecca Lawrence from the Native Plant Restoration Program in Glacier National Park will be presenting “Saving our charismatic megaflora: Whitebark and limber pine restoration in Glacier National Park.” Rebecca has been working in the Native Plant Restoration Program at Glacier National Park for 14 seasons and currently works as the program manager, leading the five-needle pine restoration program. Rebecca received her Master of Science from University of Montana in restoration ecology focusing on alpine and subalpine areas and ski areas. In 2002 – 2003 she was a Fulbright Scholar in Austria studying and comparing restoration techniques used in ski areas. One of the things she loves the most about her job is that she gets paid to climb trees!
Presentation starts at 6pm.
Please note: Participation in the main Science on Tap room will be capped at 50 seated. We will have overflow seating in the Barrel Room as well as have the presentation on our TVs and speakers throughout the Pubhouse.
From 5 to 8pm the day of Science on Tap, $1.00 of every pint sold will be donated to the Flathead Lakers & the Flathead Lake Biological Station. Join us the first Tuesday of every month for a different discussion on topics of interest around the lake and region.
