Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is a tale that follows the journey of a dreamer named Joseph, who is the son of Jacob and one of twelve brothers. He is given a coat of many colors by his father, which is symbolic of his favor and an object of his brother’s jealousy. Joseph endures a series of adventures which challenge him to his core, including being sold into slavery, imprisoned, and ultimately finding himself in front of the mighty but troubled, Elvis-inspired Pharaoh. This magical musical is full of catchy songs in a variety of styles, from a parody of French ballads (“Those Canaan Days”), to country-western (“One More Angel in Heaven”) and calypso (“Benjamin Calypso”), along with the unforgettable classics “Any Dream Will Do” and “Close Every Door.”
