Auditions for Bigfork Playhouse Children’s Theatre
The Bigfork Playhouse Children’s Theater invites students in grades 2 through 6 to audition, Tuesday January 4, for the cast of “Disney’s ALADDIN Jr. – based on the classic Disney movie
Disney’s Aladdin Junior is a sandy tale about a young boy who finds a Genie in a lamp and brings the classic movie to life again on stage. In Agrabah, City of Enchantment, every beggar has a story and every camel has a tail! Aladdin, a kind but wily street urchin, falls in love with beautiful Princess Jasmine. It just so happens that the Sultan has declared that Princess Jasmine must choose a husband within the next day. After she turns down the offers from various wealthy suitors, Aladdin and the evil Jafar duke it out for Jasmine’s love. With a little help from a wacky genie, Aladdin manages to win Jasmine’s hand in marriage.
Auditions will be held at the Bigfork Playhouse Children’s Theatre afterschool Center on (on 833 Grand Dr.) on Tuesday, January 4th, from 4:30-5:30 PM for 2nd and 3rd grades, and 5:30-7:30 PM for 4th through 6th grades. (Performances January 28 & 29 and Feb 4 & 5 at 7:30 and February 6 at 2:00)
This production calls for a large cast of around 40. It costs nothing to audition and only $50 to be a part of the show if cast. Please prepare a 30 second Monologue or short selection from another play, poem or book, (we’ll have several at the audition if you can’t find one) and plan to learn and sing something for us at the audition. Don’t worry if you don’t have experience, we’ll have materials at the theatre for you. Wear comfortable shoes that you can move in, as we will be moving around the stage. (Please do NOT SING your audition, we’ll teach you a song when you’re there)
Not interested in stage work but would like to be involved? Give us a call! We need help with the technical parts – building sets, props, costumes, lights and sound.
