DESCRIPTION:‘Tis the season to bundle up and join the Bigfork Holiday Parade of Lights! This year’s theme\, Let it Snow\, is inspired by the Bigfork Playhouse Children’s Theatre’s production of White Christmas. The parade will light up downtown Bigfork on the first Saturday of December.  Parade line up will be in the school bus parking on Grand\, across from Marina Cay. \nBring the family to stroll around our charming Christmas Village\, visit local shops\, and grab a hot drink before finding a cozy spot for the parade. The magic begins at 6:00 pm and wraps up with a special arrival of Santa at the Bigfork Center for the Performing Arts. Santa will be available for photos until 8:00 pm\, so don’t forget to bring your camera to capture the memories! \nThe Parade of Lights is a cherished\, small-town celebration\, and we hope everyone enjoys a safe and family-friendly evening. Please note that roads will be closed starting at 5:30pm. \nRegister Your Float Here \nParade Rules: \n\nThis is a non-partisan community event. The organizers reserve the right to remove any person or float deemed political or offensive.\nItems may not be thrown from floats\, but walkers are welcome to hand out goodies or gently toss them towards spectators’ feet.\nConfetti is not allowed\, as it leaves a lasting mark on our village. Floats breaking this rule will be responsible for cleanup.\nParade lineup starts at 5:00 pm at the school bus parking area on Grand Avenue\, and the parade begins at 6:00 pm. Lineup is first-come\, first-served\, with no placeholders.\nAnimals and livestock are welcome at the end of the parade\, but please provide cleanup walkers.\n\nJoin us for a night filled with lights\, joy\, and festive cheer as we celebrate Bigfork’s Christmas spirit!

SUMMARY:Bigfork Elves Decorating Day
DESCRIPTION:It is time to turn Bigfork into Montana’s Christmas Village!  Meet in front of the Bigfork Inn at 8 am for a quick lesson on bow and tree tying before hitting the streets of Bigfork.  Powered by coffee\, hot chocolate and doughnuts\, roughly a hundred volunteers make this magical transformation happen.   The decorations will stay up until the end of  January.  Don’t forget\, all the Elves are invited back to help take down the decorations in January. This family friendly community decorating party is open to all ages and only takes about 4 hours.  Santa Hats will be provided for those who are new this year and pins dispensed AFTER decorating is completed. \nHot Chili is served up for lunch to warm you up after the work is done\, courtesy of the Garden Bar and Bigfork Ladies Service Club!\n\n\n

The tasting opens to the public at 1 pm\, and your $5 ticket lets you sample all the entries. Hungry yet? \nWant to get involved in Tamarack Time!? There are three fantastic ways to do it! \nChair a food category! Help make Tamarack Time! a success by ralling your friends\, family\, and strangers to submit a dish in that category. The day all you need to do is man the table\, with a couple volunteers you recruit\, to receive the entries and serve tastings to the public. \nBe a judge! Cleanse your palate and sharpen your taste buds\, and get ready to dive into Bigfork’s finest homemade culinary delights. Judging takes place from 12-1pm and the competition is fierce. \nEnter you best dish\, or dishes! Whether you’re known for a particular dish\, the keeper of a closely guarded family recipe\, or just a home chef with a creation you can’t share\, bring it down to Tamarack Time! to see how you stack up. DESCRIPTION:Due to the closure of the single lane bridge in Bigfork\, this year’s parade will look a bit different. \n\n\n\n\nWe ask for your help in ensuring this is a safe and successful event!\nIf you are attending please take advantage of the free shuttle from Highway 35 and 82.  Do not park on Bridge Street and attempt to walk downtown.  There is no pedestrian traffic allowed on the bridge. \nIf you are entering a float\, please make sure you understand the changes to line up this year. Register your float here. \n********************************************************************************************************************************************************************************** \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFOURTH OF JULY PARADE\n\n\n\n\nBigfork knows how to throw a party. And when it is our country’s birthday\, Bigfork really knows how to celebrate. This year we are proud to announce our Grand Marshal:  Gretchen Gates of Eva Gates Preservers.  In honor of their 75th anniversary the theme for this year’s parade is “Preserving” Bigfork Traditions. \nCenterpiece of the celebration is the annual parade through Bigfork which begins at noon. Bring your whole family to view our great parade to celebrate the birth of our country. The 4th of July Parade in Bigfork is a Flathead Valley favorite. There will be food trucks and live music by the Fetveit Brothers in the downtown parking lot starting at 10am and continuing after the parade so head down early. \nParking for the parade will be in the field at the intersection of Highway 35 and 82. From this parking area only\, free shuttle service is available to downtown from 8am-5pm. For everyone to have a clear view of the parade\, there will be no cars allowed in downtown Bigfork after 8 am on the 4th. \nFloats must pre-register. If you are planning on entering a loat in the parade\, you must pre-register and make sure you understand the float line up procedure. There is a fee for all entries to help cover the costs associated with the parade. Floats will be judged on Entertainment Value\, Originality\, Craftsmanship\, and Interpretation of the Theme\, along with a classic car category. \nEach year\, parade organizers pay extra care to the energy and messages from participants both in and watching the parade. We are asking that all individuals attending the parade in any capacity remember this is a community event – welcoming to all and strictly non-partisan.  Please keep this in mind if you are planning to attend or participate in the parade. Any person or float that is deemed by parade organizers as offensive or political will be removed from the event.  We are proud of where we live in and excited to invite the Flathead Valley to this non-partisan celebration of America’s birthday. Political candidates are allowed to participate with respectful campaign signage only (name\, seat\, party) and may not hand out printed information. \nThe parade begins at noon with members of the military.  They will pause in front of the Bigfork Center for the Performing Arts to present colors while the National Anthem is sung. \nParade Rules: \n\nThe parade organizers will remove any person and or float that is deemed to be political or offensive. This is a non-partisan community event.\nItems may not be thrown into the crowd. Walkers with your float may hand out items or they may be gently tossed toward the feet of spectators.\nNo confetti cannons or throwing confetti. Confetti leaves lasting litter throughout our village.  If any person on your float is seen breaking this rule\, you will be required to pay for clean-up.\nParade line up starts at 9 am sharp and closes exactly at 11 am.\nLineup is first come/first in line\nThere is no place holding\nAnimals and livestock are welcome to join the parade after the rest of the floats and before the Flathead Lake Lodge firetruck – who is last. If you will have animals\, please contact us so we can help find a safe\, shady place for them.  Please have walkers to clean up after them\nJudging will take place in the parade line up. To be judged\, your float must be completed by 11:00 am.\nFloats that have not pre-registered or that arrive after 11am will not be allowed in the parade.\n\n\n\n\n\nJudging Criteria:\n \n\nOriginality: This category judges the overall creativity and originality in the float design and concept.\nCraftsmanship: This category judges the quality and complexity of the float’s workmanship.\nEntertainment Value: This category judges the float’s “wow factor.” Judges will consider the elements such as color\, sound\, and motion. DESCRIPTION:‘Tis the season for the Parade of Lights.   The theme is Totally Awesome 80s Christmas in conjunction with the Bigfork Playhouse Children’s Theatre’s performance of Totally Awesome Christmas Carol \nThe Bigfork Holiday Parade of Lights is held in downtown Bigfork starting at Grand and Electric Avenues on the first Saturday of December. Bring the kids and family out to visit local businesses\, then grab a hot drink and enjoy the show. The parade will wrap up with Santa’s arrival at the Bigfork Center for the Performing Arts at 6:30 pm.  He will be available for pictures until 8 pm.  Remember to bring your camera to take memorable photos in the Christmas Village. \nThe Parade of Lights is a small\, community minded parade.  Please keep this in mind if you are planning to attend and/or participate.  We hope that attendees arrive early to shop\, dine\, and support Bigfork businesses.  There is no formal road closure for this event\, so please use extreme caution whether you are a spectator or float driver. Floats may register here:  https://business.bigfork.org/events/details/parade-of-lights-481\nParade Rules: \n\nThe parade organizers will remove any person and or float that is deemed to be political or offensive.  This is a non-partisan community event.\nItems may not be thrown into the crowd.  Walkers with your float may hand out items or they may be gently tossed toward the feet of spectators.\nNo confetti cannons or throwing confetti.  Confetti leaves lasting litter throughout our village.  If any person on your float is seen breaking this rule\, you will be required to pay for clean-up.\nParade line up starts at 5pm at the school bus parking area on Grand.\nParade starts at 6pm\nLineup is first come/first serve\nThere is no place holding\nAnimals and livestock are welcome to join at the end parade.  Please have walkers to clean up afterwards.

DESCRIPTION:It is time to turn Bigfork into Montana’s Christmas Village!  Meet in front of the Bigfork Inn at 8 am for a quick lesson on bow and tree tying before hitting the streets of Bigfork.  Powered by coffee\, hot chocolate and doughnuts\, roughly a hundred volunteers make this magical transformation happen.   The decorations will stay up until the end of  January.  Don’t forget\, all the Elves are invited back to help take down the decorations in January. This family friendly community decorating party is open to all ages and only takes about 4 hours.  Santa Hats will be provided for those who are new this year and pins dispensed AFTER decorating is completed. \nHot Chili is served up for lunch to warm you up after the work is done\, courtesy of the Garden Bar and Bigfork Ladies Service Club!\n\n\n

DESCRIPTION:Let’s Get Ready to Rumble!\nRev up your engines and head to Bigfork for the 15th annual Rumble in the Bay …..one of the most renowned in the Pacific Northwest!   This year’s featured car will be announced soon. \nDowntown Bigfork will be busting at the seams with hundreds of classic cars on display along Electric Avenue and Grand Avenue.   Attendees are invited to the Show and Shine from 10-3pm.  The Rumble in the Bay Awards Ceremony will begin at 3pm at the Bigfork Center for the Performing Arts. This is a family friendly event with food\, entertainment\, poker walk\, 50/50 split the pot\, and more. \nThere is no fee for attendees and parking is available at the Bigfork Schools.  Limited handicap parking\, with decal\, will be available downtown on Grand.  Well behaved fur-babies are welcome on leash and you must clean up after them. \nThere is also a Rumble Around the Lake Poker Run\, open to all types of vehicles\, on  Saturday\, September 2nd.  Start at the Buffalo Saloon at 10:30 and then make it back by 4 p.m. for the Ante-Up Party. \nProceeds from this event go towards annual scholarships and awards given to Bigfork students and residents by the Bigfork VFW. DESCRIPTION:2022 celebrates the 44th year for the annual Bigfork Festival of the Arts is a favorite among artists and visitors alike. We are excited to be hosting this event and ask for your patience and support as we navigate a new festival layout and new regulations.  Our well attended Festival fills the village of Bigfork with a fine selection of art\, crafts\, food\, music and other entertainment on both Saturday and Sunday. You are invited to be a part of this special weekend. Many exhibitors have declared that this is their favorite show of the summer \nThe Bigfork Festival of the Arts will be Saturday and Sunday 9am-4:30pm.   Parking and shuttle will be at the Bigfork Rodeo Grounds with a free shuttle running 8:30-5pm.  Limited parking is available at the Bigfork School parking and on Electric Avenue (via Bridge Street).  There will be limited handicap parking at the UPS Store on Grand Avenue\, decal is required. \nWe LOVE volunteers!  Please consider helping out for a two hours – you can sign up here. \n
