SUMMARY:Auditions for Guys & Dolls JR
DESCRIPTION:The Bigfork Playhouse Children’s Theater invites students in grades 2 through 6 to audition\, Tuesday January 2\, for the cast of “Guys & Dolls Jr. – based on the classic ‘Golden Age’ Musical.\nGuys and Dolls JR. is an adaptation of the show considered by many to be the perfect musical comedy.  Set in New York City\, Guys and Dolls JR. follows gambler\, Nathan Detroit\, as he tries to find the cash to set up the biggest crap game in town while the authorities breathe down his neck. Meanwhile\, his girlfriend and nightclub performer\, Adelaide\, laments that they’ve been engaged for fourteen years without ever getting married. Nathan turns to fellow gambler\, Sky Masterson\, for the dough\, but Sky ends up chasing the straight-laced missionary\, Sarah Brown. Guys and Dolls JR. takes us from the heart of Times Square to the cafes of Havana\, but everyone eventually ends up right where they belong.  Songs include: “Adelaide’s Lament\,” the romantic “I’ve Never Been in Love Before\,” the exuberant “If I Were a Bell\,” and the classic “Luck Be a Lady.” \nAuditions will be held at the Bigfork Playhouse Children’s Theatre afterschool Center on (on 833 Grand Dr.) on Tuesday\, January 2nd\, from 4:30-5:30 PM for 2nd and 3rd grades\, and 5:30-7:30 PM for 4th through 6th grades.  (Performances January 26 & 27 and Feb 2 & 3 at 7:30 and February 4 at 2:00) \nThis production calls for a large cast of around 40.  It costs nothing to audition and only $50 to be a part of the show if cast.  Please prepare a 30 second Monologue or short selection from another play\, poem or book\, (we’ll have several at the audition if you can’t find one) and plan to learn and sing something for us at the audition.  Don’t worry if you don’t have experience\, we’ll have materials at the theatre for you. Wear comfortable shoes that you can move in\, as we will be moving around the stage.  (Please do NOT SING your audition\, we’ll teach you a song when you’re there) \nNot interested in stage work but would like to be involved? DESCRIPTION:Calling all Actors – 3rd through Adult.  Come be like Buddy the Elf!  The Bigfork Playhouse Children’s Theater invites students grades 3 through Adult to audition for our annual Christmas production.  This year we are presenting ELF the Musical.  Buddy the elf is raised\, unaware that he is actually a human\, until his enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth. With Santa’s permission\, Buddy embarks on a journey to New York City to find his birth father and discover his true identity. Faced with the harsh reality that his father is on the naughty list and that his half-brother doesn’t even believe in Santa\, Buddy is determined to win over his new family and help New York remember the true meaning of Christmas. \nAuditions for Elf the Musical will be held at the Bigfork Playhouse Children’s Theatre Afterschool Arts CENTER on Tuesday (November 16 – on 833 Grand Ave.) \nfrom 4:30 – 5:30 for grades 3 and 4\, from 5:30 – 6:30 for Grade 5 – 7 and from 6:30-8:00 for grades 8 through Adult. \nThis production calls for medium sized cast and cost nothing to audition. There is a $50 fee to participate in the production if cast in the show.  Please prepare a 30 second Monologue or selection from another play or book\, and plan to learn and sing something for us.  If you don’t have experience or can’t find something to prepare\, we’ll have materials at the CENTER for you.   (tentative rehearsal schedules will be at the auditions)  Performances Dec 10\, 11\, 12\,  17\, 18 & 19 \nNot interested in stage work but would like to be involved?
