Preserve River View Place

Preserving river view place

At the heart of downtown Bigfork lies River View Place, our village’s last green space — a cherished lot overlooking the stunning Swan River. The Community Foundation for a Better Bigfork (CFBB) is leading the Preserve River View Place capital campaign to raise $1.5 million by February 2027 to purchase this vital community asset, ensuring it remains a public space for generations to come.

Why River View Place Matters

River View Place is more than just a green space—it’s the heart of Bigfork. This lot, along with two adjacent buildings and an attached parking lot, hosts the Bigfork Monday Market, Lake Baked Bakery, and countless community gatherings. It’s where families picnic, visitors admire the Swan River’s beauty, concerts romance us, and locals connect, preserving the small-town charm that makes Bigfork so special.

the background

When the property went up for sale, a group of dedicated locals stepped in to purchase it, holding it until CFBB could raise the funds to secure it permanently. Their commitment gave us a head start, and now it’s our turn to finish the job.

Lake Baked Bakery, a beloved tenant, will continue to operate in one of the buildings as we secure and protect the property, ensuring continuity for local businesses.

Our Progress

Thanks to the generosity of our community, we’ve raised $1.2 million toward our $1.5 million goal. With just about $250,000 left to raise by February 2027, every donation brings us closer to protecting this space for generations to come.
