The winner of the “Voice of Democracy” will read his/her essay\, and the Bigfork High School Band are performing with the cheerleaders serving as the color guard. \nThe program is streamed live and viewers can access this service through the school Facebook account (Bigfork School District 38) on the day of the event. \nAll veterans and the public are welcome\, and refreshments will be served afterwards for veterans and their guests. \n

DESCRIPTION:Please join us for a very special Sundowner at the Bigfork VFW Post #4042 on Veteran’s Day\, November 11th\, 2021 from 5-7pm. \nThe Sundowner will kick off in conjunction with the annual VFW chili feed\, which is free to all veterans.  There will be a presentation of the flags by Bigfork Scout Troop 1923 at 5:30 pm followed by the introduction of Post #4042 Commander Rob Gambino and announcements.  A flag retirement ceremony will commence at 6:30 pm. \nAttendees are welcome to partake in the chili feed and cinnamon and sugar pretzels will be provided by Bigfork’s newest establishment\, A Sip of Montana.  The VFW will be offering a free\, one-year membership to any new\, qualifying Veteran in attendance. \nAs usual\, make sure to bring a few dollars for raffle prizes.  Plan to network with peers\, catch up on community news and information while honoring and thanking military personnel. \nWe are proud to be able to host the November Sundowner in observance of Veteran’s Day. \nAdditional parking is available at the office of Snyder\, Beaudry\, & Cook to the north of the VFW.

DESCRIPTION:Calling all Actors – 3rd through Adult.  Come be like Buddy the Elf!  The Bigfork Playhouse Children’s Theater invites students grades 3 through Adult to audition for our annual Christmas production.  This year we are presenting ELF the Musical.  Buddy the elf is raised\, unaware that he is actually a human\, until his enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth. With Santa’s permission\, Buddy embarks on a journey to New York City to find his birth father and discover his true identity. Faced with the harsh reality that his father is on the naughty list and that his half-brother doesn’t even believe in Santa\, Buddy is determined to win over his new family and help New York remember the true meaning of Christmas. \nAuditions for Elf the Musical will be held at the Bigfork Playhouse Children’s Theatre Afterschool Arts CENTER on Tuesday (November 16 – on 833 Grand Ave.) \nfrom 4:30 – 5:30 for grades 3 and 4\, from 5:30 – 6:30 for Grade 5 – 7 and from 6:30-8:00 for grades 8 through Adult. \nThis production calls for medium sized cast and cost nothing to audition. There is a $50 fee to participate in the production if cast in the show.  Please prepare a 30 second Monologue or selection from another play or book\, and plan to learn and sing something for us.  If you don’t have experience or can’t find something to prepare\, we’ll have materials at the CENTER for you.   (tentative rehearsal schedules will be at the auditions)  Performances Dec 10\, 11\, 12\,  17\, 18 & 19 \nNot interested in stage work but would like to be involved?
