DESCRIPTION:BATTLE OF THE BOOTS JANUARY 1ST THRU JANUARY 31ST\n\nEvery time you hike\, snowshoe\, fat-tire bike\, sled\, or cross-country ski a trail at one of these parks in the month of January\, log your miles on the log sheets at trailhead kiosks to help lead your park to victory. The competition will kick off on January 1\, 2023\, and conclude on January 31\, 2023.\nThe stellar showing from hikers at Flathead Lake State Park in 2021 and 2022 crowned the two-time champion on the lake. With their own success to live up to\, Flathead Lake will not take their status as reigning champ lightly. They know what it takes to continue a winning tradition.\nBut who doesn’t like an underdog story? Lone Pine has shown grit and will not back down from its rival: Flathead Lake State Park.\nWith the past 11 months to prepare for the rematch\, we invite you to hike the trails at Lone Pine State Park and Flathead Lake State Park’s Wayfarers\, West Shore\, and Big Arm Units to help your park to victory in January. And it’s only fitting that the prizes are bigger and better than ever.\nPrizes:\nWeekly: For just hiking your name will be entered into a raffle; for every mile you hike\, you will receive one raffle entry (11 miles\, 11 raffle tickets).\nEnd of the Month: On February 1st Park staff will finish each park’s tallies.\n1st overall miles for the month: FREE weekend of camping this summer at Lake Mary Ronan State Park or the West Shore Unit of Flathead Lake State Park.\n2nd overall miles for the month: FREE day of SUP/Kayak rental at Finley Point Unit of Flathead Lake State Park\n3rd overall miles for the month: FREE 25L OSPREY day pack\nThere will also be smaller prizes for top hikers at Lone Pine and Flathead Lake (units combined).
