Before the start of their 41st Vibes and Visions Season\, Glacier Symphony is holding auditions to welcome in more chorale members to its ranks. The Glacier Chorale currently has over 80 volunteer singers but wishes to continue to grow this number and welcome in more talent from the Flathead Valley.\nThe Glacier Chorale will be holding auditions for the 2023-2024 symphony season on June 16 and 17 between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m.  The audition process takes 30 minutes\, and includes a brief interview\, vocalizing with some basic vocal warmups\, tests of basic musicianship (which include basic understanding of the piano keyboard and reading pitches and rhythms)\, and tonal memory exercises.  No prepared solo is required.  Auditions are by appointment and take place at the Glacier Symphony office at 69 N Main St. in Kalispell. \n“The Glacier Chorale is made up of people of all ages and walks of life\,” said Chorale Conductor\, Dr. Micah Hunter\, “We have college students\, retirees\, active professionals\, entrepreneurs\, stay-at-home parents\, and all kinds of people you can imagine.  The Chorale is a group of people who love singing and love the choral art.” \nGlacier Symphony audiences were wowed by the chorale’s contributions to Beethoven’s 9th Symphony\, Handel’s Messiah and Carmen: Opera in Concert during the 2022-2023 season. We will be hosting a 5k and a 10k race. The event will be held on Father’s Day Weekend\, Saturday\, June 17th\, 2023. The races will start and end in the Bigfork High School parking lot.There will be drinks\, snacks\, music\, and prizes to our top runners. This will be a fun event you will not want to miss! Money raised from this event will be used to help Bigfork High School’s partially funded sports and our other many community projects.The six sports benefiting from this fundraiser include: boys and girls soccer\, cross country\, swimming\, wrestling and golf.
