DESCRIPTION:The Bigfork Playhouse Children’s Theater invites students in grades 5 through 12 to audition\, Tuesday\, February 21\, for the cast of the hilarious musical “SHREK Jr.”.\nAuditions will be held at the Bigfork Playhouse Children’s Theatre Afterschool Arts Center\, located at 833 Grand Ave\, on Tuesday\, February 21 from 4:30-6:00 PM for 5th through 7th grades and 6:00-8:00 PM for 8th through 12th grades. \nOnce upon a time\, in a far away swamp\, there lived an ogre named Shrek.  One day\, Shrek finds his swamp invaded by banished fairytale misfits who have been cast off by Lord Farquaad\, a tiny terror with big ambitions. When Shrek sets off with a wisecracking donkey to confront Farquaad\, he’s handed a task — if he rescues feisty princess Fiona\, his swamp will be righted. Shrek tries to win Fiona’s love and vanquish Lord Farquaad\, but a fairytale wouldn’t be complete without a few twists and turns along the way. \nThis production calls for a large cast; over 30 speaking parts and a medium chorus of Fairy Tale Characters and various Kingdom people.  It costs nothing to audition and there is a small $50 participation fee if you are cast in the show.  Please prepare a 30 second Monologue or short selection from another play or book\, and plan to learn and sing something for us at the audition.  Don’t worry if you don’t have experience\, we’ll have materials at the theatre for you. Wear comfortable shoes that you can move in\, as we will be moving and dancing around the stage – if you don’t we’ll turn you into an Ogre and you’ll have to live with the smell forever”. \nNot interested in stage work but would like to be involved? Two nuns at the Sisters of Perpetual Sewing have been secretly making wine to keep the convent’s doors open\, but Paul and Sally\, reporters and former fiancees\, are hot on their trail. They go undercover as a nun and priest\, but their presence\, combined with the addition of a new nun\, spurs paranoia throughout the convent that spies have been sent from Rome to shut them down. Wine and secrets are inevitably spilled as everyone tries to preserve the convent and reconnect with lost loves. \nThe Bigfork Community Players are a community theater group located in Bigfork Montana. No experience is necessary and you do not need to prepare and memorize a monologue for your audition.  Just show up and expect to have fun. \nShow dates: April 21\, 22\, 28\, & 29th @ 7:30pm \nApril 23 & 30th @ 2pm. \nLocation: Bigfork Center for the Performing Arts. \nRehearsals start end of February\, evenings\, 3 nights per week at our North Woods Bay rehearsal facility.
