DESCRIPTION:The Bigfork Water and Sewer District is inviting the community to a public meeting to obtain comments regarding the on-going Water and Wastewater System Preliminary Engineering Reports (“PER”).  The District’s consulting engineer\, Morrison-Maierle\, will provide an overview of the facility planning process\, summarize the existing and future conditions\, and discuss deficiencies in the systems. \nFollowing the presentation\, the community will have the opportunity to ask questions and comment on the water and sewer systems. Any questions and comments discussed at the meeting will be incorporated into the final report as appropriate. \nThe meeting available via Zoom for those who are unable to attend in person. Please check the District’s website\, www.bigforkwater.com\, for a meeting link. In addition\, there will also be a second public meeting held at a later date (to be determined).

As a one man shop for nearly 14 years\, David had to learn how to reach the masses through networking. He started Black Diamond Mortgage in 2008 and has been building his relationships with unique methods that work. He has served on many boards and has taught multiple classes on networking. His approach is focused on learning what other people like… not what he thinks they like. Truly learning what the needs are of others. Listening to and learning about his contacts to generate lifelong relationships. \nMaria Phelps joined Black Diamond Mortgage in 2015 as a ‘Marketing Assistant’. She had been building her own Marketing company prior to starting at the company. Her skills in networking proved to be a big asset in the Mortgage Industry and she decided to go all in with Mortgages. As now Co-Owner with David Boye\, she brings her experience in marketing and business to the table. Building relationships that revolve around getting to know people beyond just the sale. Learning what they love and how she can help. She has taught several classes on networking including classes on different tools you can use. She will share some of those in the class.

As for the rest of us\, it’s time to get back into bear awareness mode.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMark your calendars for Wednesday\, April 6th\, for our annual SVBR Spring Bear Wake-up Social!\nWe’ll be joined (virtually) by @montanafwp Grizzly Bear Research Assistant Lori Roberts\, who will be giving a virtual presentation on bears of the Swan Valley and beyond.\nLori Roberts is a Research Assistant on the Grizzly Bear Trend Monitoring team for Montana Fish\, Wildlife and Park (MT FWP). She has worked in both research and management side of grizzly bear with MT FWP for the past 16 years. Before moving to NW Montana\, she worked in the Bear Management Office in Yellowstone National Park. DESCRIPTION:Join us on Thursday\, April 7th in the Cellar at the Flathead Lake Brewing Co. Pubhouse for our next Science on Tap event! Doug Emlen\, regents professor of biology at the University of Montana\, will present “Extreme Weapons: A Natural History.”\n\nEvery animal has a weapon of one sort or another\, but the overwhelming majority of weapons stay small. Yet\, sprinkled through the tree of life are species where weapons become extreme. Occasionally\, human manufactured weapons also evolve to extremes. Emlen reveals that the same critical conditions trigger arms races in both cases\, and the most crucial prerequisite is duels. A journey that begins with biology becomes the story of all weapons\, as Emlen discusses beetles and battleships\, crabs and the Cold War.\n\nThe presentation will begin at 6:30pm\, but the Cellar will open for service at 6pm. We have several tables available + bar seating. Make sure to reserve yours before they’re gone! Premium tables are closer to the stage with better viewing. Upper Floor tables and bar seating is set back further from the stage. There are 8 seats available at the bar\, select how the number of seats needed.\n\nThe Cellar has 14 brews on tap and a full bar.
