Summer Experience Kicks Off at ImagineIF Libraries
Kalispell, MT – On June 11 and 12, ImagineIF Libraries will kick off Summer Experience 2019 for children and teens. Sponsored by Weyerhaeuser and Headwaters Foundation through funding obtained by the ImagineIF Library Foundation, Summer Experience is a free program that encourages youth to enjoy books, explore science and discover new adventures all summer long. This year’s events are all about learning through play, with an emphasis on STEAM-based (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) activities. ImagineIF is excited to partner with Carter County Museum to bring an interactive dinosaur museum to the Flathead Valley on July 16 and 17. Families are invited to join paleontologists, museum curators and paleoartists from Ekalaka, MT on an exploration of ancient Montana animals.
Beginning June 3, participants from infants through teens entering 12th grade can take home an activity log that suggests thought-provoking and exciting activities, encouraging them to explore their imaginations and the world around them. Youth and families may sign up at any ImagineIF location: Bigfork, Columbia Falls, Kalispell or Marion.
Prizes for children completing the activity log include books, waterpark passes, ice cream, science kits and other cool stuff. Teens entering grades 6-12 can also enter to win one of three Fuji Instax Cameras or a Video Drone!
