Need a break from the dreary winter season? Grow some greens!
This super-easy and fun class is perfect for kids and grown-ups, even if your green thumb has hitched a ride to the beach.
Microgreens are easy to grow, extremely nutritional, and very tasty. They are grown in shallow containers with a well drained soil mixture and harvested when the first true leaves begin to develop, usually in about 5 – 10 days.
Sprouts, on the other hand, are also easy to grow, extremely nutritional and tasty but they require just a little more attention. They are grown in a quart-size Mason/Ball jar and must be rinsed twice a day. They grow very quickly and can be eaten in just a few days.
Growing green things is a fun, easy, and exciting activity for the whole family!
RSVP – Space is limited, so please RSVP by replying to this message, or by leaving us a voicemail at BACC – 406-837-6927.
COST – Adults $10, kids under 12 FREE.
MATERIALS – For Microgreens – bring a shallow, plastic container. Those clam-shell things that salad or berries come in are great, but any old plastic container will do. For Sprouts – bring a quart size glass canning jar with a ring lid.
